  • The argument is flawed. As the vile rhetoric out in the open, normalizes it. This in turn causes it to be used more, snowballing out of control. It deserves to be in the shadows… skulking… it belongs there… it will never go away.

Countering speech with more speech, might work in an honest conversation, but when one side blatantly lies and has no shame… when we are in a post truth situation… with alternative facts and NO consequences… while the billionaire class hold the reighns to all the media you consume…

The speech with more speech will not work.

Next to that… saying Nazi shit and a plethora of other things deserve a punch in the mouth… the US should have a law that anyone calling a black person the N word can be punched in the mouth by said black person or a designated representative… that would be a just law.

  • There are several families of painmeds some more harmless than others. Anecdotally I know people that only seem to get relief from ibuprofen, and others that swear only paracetamol (Tylenol) helps, while again others sweat to asperin. Like the other person said… talk to a pharmacist about options, and see if others work for you.

Some like paracetamol can me taken over the course of a day for multiple days for example post operation… and they build a level that causes them to work even stronger. But paracetamol can cause lover damage if taken too much.

Like with all drugs, read the darn pamphlet. Opiates are not your friend and should only be taken very sparingly under proper supervision, if at all… sure they dull pain but are highly addictive.

Source, not a medical professional, so take what I wrote with a grain of salt and consult a professional.

  • Luckily the police and the military have a bit different standards. Army generals are mostly well educated and very well read men who deal with the whole world and not just their neck of the woods, and possibly more important is that in the world of the military they do not have the monopoly on violence. They have to deal with adversaries who are equals and thus changes the power dynamic A LOT. A police captain can in the end just escalate all the way to the national guard and stomp out anything… in the military they cannot as their escalations immediately leads to deaths and escalates all the way to nuclear Armageddon. So luckily they are of a different breed.

But now, trump might replace the top brass with his loyalists, (loyalty > competence) fast tracking some appointments of people that normally not have made it to that level.

The guard rails are off… the world is in for a wild ride.

  • The “economy” does not help people pay their bills. And the unit of measurement only says something about the whole. The fact that a small portion of the people actually profit from this better economy is the issue, the unit of measurement has no bearing on normal people.

And now, we will see what trade tarrifs will do, and gutting the administration and filling it with partisan players (loyalty > capability). And what gutting protection and health agencies will do.

Now that it’s done I personally am morbidly curious what Trump, Vance, Kennedy and Musk can do to America in the next term (and possibly beyond). I really wonder if this will be as dark as it can be… but the project 2025 ghouls are scary as fuck.

What is the over under on a national abortion ban in the US?

When they ask you like that… it’s the cue o have a conversation on the F-ing subject. What are your hopes and dreams, kids, quick wedding or elaborate… you know… discuss what the future would hold together.

Once you have had those conversations you also know what the answer to a proposal will be.
