This has been my experience as well but as a coder.
I can’t count the number of contributions I’ve made, many of them minor. I’m talking 20-30 lines of code max.
I can count on two hands the number that have been either accepted or declined for a legitimate reason.
My guess is that it’s the easiest and cheapest way to set up “MFA”.
The number of banks that don’t have proper MFA really bugs me.
The trick that the Government has learned is that it’s easier and cheaper to buy your location data from a third party.
No warrant necessarily since the data is available to anyone who wants to buy it.
I was just thinking this. If you’re dev, being on pure Linux makes a ton of sense. But if you’re a gamer, Windows is still your best option.
I love it, but my company will not.

I recently got a Mac for work and noticed that tel: links open FaceTime by default.
I don’t know if there is a way to change that but it’s fucking annoying.

The problem for the Democrats is that the tent is very big. There are a lot of issues and a lot of people who care about very different things.
Gaza, unfortunately, was one of those. We had people who grit their teeth and voted Harris even though it was going to hurt them.
On the other side, Jewish zionists would have absolutely turned on Harris if she fully supported Palestine. Harris made a pragmatic choice to not alienate the zionists in the hopes that her opponent would be so toxic that Palestinians would see the lesser of two evils.
The really frustrating thing is Republicans don’t have to run this kind of campaign. They can run a campaign on shit, fantasy, and rumor and their base will still show up and vote.
John Oliver’s segment on Palestinians really cemented it for me: if your family was killed by a missile sold to them by Biden, it’s really difficult to support his successor.
Sure you may not want the orange turd either.
But imagine the heartache of voting for the person related to the one who is responsible for the death of your family.
I know I can’t. And a part of me feels for them.
What upset me the most is that Harris used Hilary’s election plan verbatim. No one stopped to tell Harris that Clinton lost.
Sanders warned her that if she wants a good turn out, she needs to have a plan for the working class.
Instead she wasted weeks trying to get Republican endorsements instead of trying to shore up her base.

When the $1 coins were released, most stuff in vending machines were still within the cost of a dollar. Thought I’m not disagreeing with your comment. Coins, for the most part, are relegated to coin jars and aren’t really “spent” in the same way that bills are.
The problem is that coins generally are just so inconvenient. I only hold onto them for the rare occasion where I need to feed a meter.
It’s one of the jobs of a bank though. They are supposed to exchange damaged bills and then exchange them with the mint, who then destroys them.
Honestly we need to get rid of the $1 bill generally but that’s a completely different post all together.
Voyager had it’s own “Measure of a Man” episode a la the EMH in Season 7, episode 20 “Author, Author”. A lot of the same themes were there. But what has bothered me for years is at the end of the episode, it’s implied that there is a number of EMH units that have been “reading” the Doctor’s holonovel, and building a resistance.
This was never explored in any future Star Trek, was it? It wasn’t talked about in Picard or Lower Decks. And Picard had the whole AI plot line.

I think it’s a result of trying to get support right now so you don’t get stuck waiting for someone to up vote your question or having other questions push your thread further down.
I’ve been a victim of this myself and going to Discord seems to be better getting someone to actually help you, especially for niche questions.
I’m not saying I like it but I certainly get it.

Trump’s cult makes up for A LOT. His attempt to usurp power will more than result in an executive official order to ensure his, and anyone who even has a hint of disloyalty, permanent compliance.
There is a difference between someone who is new and experiences something like their IDE deletes a file that was unexpected and asking a question about why it did that.
Then there are arrogant assholes who believe their shit doesn’t stink and that they couldn’t have done anything wrong and it was the IDE’s fault for not knowing what they wanted to do versus what they commanded it to do.
