I am doubting myself now after not being able to quickly find a verified source but I’ve worked with lots of smart TVs and seem to recall Samsung or LG models using this simulated effect. It would have had to have been simulated since there was no signal coming in, and I recall the pattern being noticably pseudo random.

As for why: I have no idea! Maybe just for user familiarity reasons, since a lot of people grew up with that kind of analog feedback that the antenna wasn’t getting a signal.

I don’t think this is likely to work tbh. I’m sure the app has enough device data to link the user with a broader data profile that would easily eliminate data from people that don’t actually have periods.

The data profiles people build on citizens aren’t limited to one data source, and emails/phone numbers/browser fingerprints/device details are all things that can be keyed between data sets to relate identities.

Fascist law enforcement can and would do this kind of thing to chase individuals. This kind of noise seems easy to filter out.

When both parties appeal to the same group but one gives them more of what they want unsurprisingly that’s the one that wins.

The working class is invisible because the working class is not organized.

If we don’t organize and start taking direct action then nothing will change.

People need to join organizations in their community or labor unions and begin to directly sabotage the conservative agenda. General strikes should be something that the American left are actively planning right now.
