Aren’t they called STIs now? Or is this just an old sign?
Of course. And then the mouse is suddenly $20 more or something.
So, if I ever get around to learning how to replace the switches myself, I’ll go looking for something that might be more reliable.
Often it’s just a bit of dirt. Other times it wears out. My point wasn’t that it’s the same as drift, but that both are wear and tear that should be avoidable or less of a problem. Like hall effect joysticks in controllers, which are still not available on first party controllers because they want you buying new ones all the time.
Same thing with these switches. There has to be a better switch that makes this less of a problem or at least prevents it from happening so damn quickly.
Sounds about right. But if controllers can have hall effect to prevent stick drift (third party controllers at least), then why can’t mouse switches have something similar?
Yeah it irritates me that the sensors always go so soon. You’d think the tech would advance past this, but it’s been a complaint for years at this point.
Yeah, that makes sense too.
Old ones were absolute cheeks, modern ones are much better, a mouse will always be preferred. Bonus points if it’s wired.
Which is sad. I liked the hardware I’ve had from them, but I haven’t bought new in a few years. The mouse has treated me much better than Razers I’ve had over the years. Sad that their quality has (predictably) started circling the drain as well.
Also, what mouse or brand do you recommend buying instead?
I’m not a fan of Dell either, but it beats many other brands. Especially if it’s a business machine.
IF this is an option for you, it works. Most people don’t have the luxury though.
Agreed. I just wish I understood the nonsense.
Considering your previous experience with Ubuntu, I would recommend Debian. Just make sure to get the right ISO for what you want.
Since you’re complaining about Ubuntu not working with ACPI power states, my next recommendation would be Endeavour to be more up to date and get fixes and stuff sooner. It’s pre-configured Arch.
I somehow read Frankenstein’s Mother the first time.
That sucks. If I block you I expect to cut you off completely. You shouldn’t be able to see me or interact with me. I shouldn’t exist anymore as far as you can tell. Otherwise what’s the point?
No idea how Discord’s blocking works since I’ve luckily never needed it. What makes it so useless?
I’m all for user agent settings, but I don’t want to mess with that for work stuff. So, I just use Chrome or Edge for that one site.
Also available unofficially for Android.
Yeah I have zero experience soldering. That’s why I said if I get to it. Definitely a skill I want to learn though.
