Yep, codeberg is great for personal/hobby or small projects, but beyond that it’s not ideal. The worst part is git is a decentralized protocol; yet github has centralized it, basically forcing developers to use it if they want their projects to live, or get a job. It’s a vicious cycle.

But i still think developers should migrate to codeberg, if all of us just wait for codeberg to get big to use it, there’d be no users in the first place. Even if you put your project as a mirror, it’s still a step, or even better: vice versa, see river.

Codeberg is criminally underrated. The UI is great, it’s 100% open source, it has CI, and it will have federation in the future. It’s a shame more people don’t use it. Piefed/river and a bunch of cool niche projects are on it though :D

The lemmy developers should seriously think of moving lemmy to codeberg, it’d be in line with lemmy’s anti-corporate stance.

My problem isn’t installing, it’s after installing. Vsync has extra bad latency, frames are reversed, and more. And this is on 565, the latest version.

Games are unplayable.

I heard of an ALVR alternative made by Collabora, you could try it. Dunno if it’s good or not.

That just makes it even weirder, how does seemingly nobody have any problems on NVIDIA, except a small minority?

What driver version are you using?

I wish. NVIDIA is still a buggy mess for me, and it seems that I am the only person with these issues, I see people praising NVIDIA on Wayland all the time now.

And VR is still bad on Linux.

Oh, yeah. The weather is one of the only good things here. People think i’m crazy for liking the heat here. then winter comes then suddenly i’m right :)

In mecca, we average 40c on all seasons except winter. At most, we get 50c. We’re used to the heat, that’s why we’re so brown, so we don’t get skin cancer :)

but I can’t handle anything else lower than 30-20. I remember going to al-Hada (a town in the mecca state) and actually felt like i was going to freeze to death. I have no idea how you Scandinavians are still alive.

In Saudi arabia it’s like 30 degrees here and even that’s enough to make me freeze. You don’t even have the sun? I’d immediately freeze to death.
