  • Sure I’ll indulge you. I think it started with the Putin/Trump mural in 2016. This was a Russian street artist making political commentary. As a response, people made fake images of Trump and Putin kissing. Soon other fake images showed up of world leaders whith unlikely partners which set the kissing theme as a household meme. Shortly after the 2020 elections in the USA, LLM’s were dropped into the world and with them AI image generation. So this joke took a run. Now nobody’s safe from this joke. It’s not just Trump, but it’s happening all over the world. These kissing images and others like it are kind of funny, but many images are nearly indistinguishable from reality and are actively weaponised to cause political havoc. Which is a whole other problem, of course.

  • If you’re about to walk into a bar with you head, or like the top of a doorpost or smt. You’ll instinctively pull back and avoid the obstacle, inches before it hurts, because your brain notice the hairs on your head moved. That’s why men who have recently gone bald, often have bumps and bruises on their head. My bald colleague told me that for him, that was the hardest thing about going bald.

I’ve recently been reading about the 6 dimensions of societies by Geert Hofstede. I think the voices in you head translate very well to those dimensions. It makes sense that in a more matriarchal society, you’d hear your dead relatives and in a more communal society you’d hear people laughing at you. While in a more patriarchal and individual society like the US the voices are more antagonising.
