But it’s not usually the people running the platform doing that. You can also find instances that go full on 4chan style freeze peach and only delete explicitly illegal stuff, but most of those are probably defederated from the big instances by now.
Enshittifying is usually the process of monetizing a platform that is running at a loss to build a user base. Steam is not running at a loss, they are making a killing as is.
