7·7 days agoOur cable provider (my parents like cable TV) had analog channels even like 2 years ago, but they started encrypting everything which required purging the analog selection.
This sucks. At worst analog would be grainy, digital just keeps cutting out in worse conditions.
I wish there was also still analog OTA TV for this reason. Much easier to pick up usable signal.
Especially if shops like Tesco as much as double your prices without loyalty cards. Tesco is the worst, haven’t been there for months (as a customer).
Tesco Clubcard, Kaufland Card, Billa Bonus club, Lidl Plus (app required), Coop Jednota Club.
There is no alternative. Supermarket chains killed most small shops. Oh, and you may still need an app to manage it even if you have a plastic card.

29·10 days agoIf you’re already using Ubuntu, I don’t think it’s worth it. They’re fairly similar. Then again, I didn’t even get to install Ubuntu in the first place, the installer kept crashing.
Unless the laptop is a potato and you don’t have a better computer, you can try Mint, or any other distro in a VM to see for yourself.
And welcome to Linux. If someone recommends you Arch Linux, Gentoo or LFS as other newbie-friendly option, it’s a joke.
Still good to know you have the option of removing your nose, just in case it starts bothering you.
