Edit: Does anyone know what this category of logical fallacy is called? Basically the fallacy where a person incorrectly tries to attribute an outcome to a single cause.

Oh absolutely! Making politicians fear gun violence at a personal level is the only way to enact actual gun control policies.

Ehhh, with a large enough population you’re bound to find someone crazy enough to do it for no reason at all.

It’s to be expected. My theory is that millennials grew up late enough that they had access to the early Internet, so they got exposed to all kinds of strange cultures and had to learn tolerance and acceptance.

The younger generations grew up with an internet dominated by mega corporations, and algorithmic feeds. Unfortunately hostile states and other bad actors have been very effective at exploiting these mechanisms, causing a strong right wing shift simply due to exposure.

Your brain is strongly colored by what it consumes, of course.

In the short term, Russia will probably be pacified, because they got their guy in office. Long term that causes an escalation in the new Cold War going on. Ukraine is probably fucked - they probably can’t survive four years with diminished support.

Tensions with China will escalate quickly, since Trump promised to enact absolutely bonkers tariffs.

Palestine is probably fucked, since Trump seems to want Israel to escalate the conflict. Netanyahu seems quite pleased.

I’m not as doom and gloom about the environment though - economics will continue to force renewable energy. As we all know, money has a whole lot more power than Trump ever will. He can slow it down, but economics always wins.

I think the first two episodes were mediocre, the rest of the season was fantastic. Maybe give it a shot!

The latest season almost feels like a return to form. Nearly all the episodes were excellent.
