VPS or personally setup?
I turned votes off on my instance because I find them toxic… case in point I guess.
The whole reason I’m here is because I thought Lemmy makes more sense than Reddit for someone who likes selfhosting :) isn’t that the whole point of the fediverse lol
I wonder what could be more random than it or more fun examples?
My post on using Tailscale on my servers gets removed but not this crap?
True, that is why I’m here. I don’t care about the Reddit api nonsense or hate Reddit just saw a comment asking why the Donald could selfhost but not selfhosting selfhost
Selfhosting via local servers is my fav thing recently. Learning Linux, file management, safe backups, how to host services privately and publically, FOSS and free alternatives to normal everyday software. The list of benefits go on
On my other accounts I say whatever I want but on my selfhosted one’s I try to speak as I would in person.
There are so few comments that I would rather read a half-thought-out one than none! :)
:)
My 8th grade English teacher made a big deal of reading that book which includes a lot more programming than the movie. I don’t remember the point he wanted to make though…
Finally my time to shine
I’ll read more into it then. Thanks for adding!
thick green line
@cypherpunks@lemmy.ml who I responded to. What do you seek to add?
What?? The link Arthur sent is not in that third video. What does your comment even mean?
Relatedly, there was a company was selling a cloud(🤡)-based product called “Little Printer” from 2012 to 2014; after their backend predictably shut down, some fans of it recreated it as https://tinyprinter.club/ and later https://nordprojects.co/projects/littleprinters/
This is super cute. Thanks for sharing!
I’ve heard the reMarkable e-ink tablet’s cloud service has good-enough-to-be-usable handwriting recognition, but sadly I haven’t heard of anything free/libre and/or offline that is.
I’ve eyed those for some time but I do prefer FOSS or at least only connected to my own server… That is a cool suggestion!
Thanks for sharing
That would certainly be more interesting. Sorry you don’t find it relevant…
You can’t see the other communities because no one from your instances subscribes. I also can’t see them.
