Not even the power of friendship?
I am a person online.
Not even the power of friendship?
Who said anyhing about voting?
The bourgeois do be forging the weapons of their own destruction…
It seems to me like you should try and acquire great enough power that you can help all those you can and punish all those who do you wrong; or who do the world wrong. Take control of the world and rule it; with a virtue without which terror would be grim, and terror without which virtue would be powerless.
I’m also trying to do that, but there can be only one. See you at the top!
But I can change, I can change!
I can learn to keep my promises I swear it!
Since HOAs were mentioned, I assume the previous comment was about the US (unless there are countries in the Old World where they are as prevalent, but I know of none). Domestic honey bees aren’t native to the US, and many native bees are endangered for many different reasons. In the rest of the world as well, honey bees aren’t the only bees, or the only pollinating insects, and each pollinator has their plants of predilections, some species of plants depend entirely on some species of insect, so insect bioiversity is very important. Protecting native bees in the Americas has particular stakes, because they’re the most adept at pollinating the native plants which are the cornerstones of several ecosystems.
I see, sorry for the misunderstanding.
Maybe it’d be an easy choice for the American left, but I’m from the French left. Along with groups such as La Quadrature du Net have been protesting reforms like the aforementioned european directive for adressing antiterrorist contents, of France’s temporary ban on Telegram during the riots or the ban of Tiktok in Kanaky during the uprising, and now we’re supposed to turn around and say “actually censorship is cool”? Are we to empower those we’re fighting in hope that they exclusively use this power against our common enemies? I’ve left Twitter the very day its purchase by the muskrat was officialized and I’ve been telling everyone I know to do as much. Sure, a european ruling would give me something I want, but I don’t trust in what comes next. There’s no way the European Union bans X and don’t end up blocking left wing fedi instances like ml or hexbear, as soon as their existence is brought to their attention.
I don’t believe there is any value in X. In fact I’d say it has negative value. However, granting the UE power and legitimacy to censor any website for political reason also has a negative value, and I’m not certain which is lower.
As much as I hate X, I might have to think about this one for a while. Sure, this platform is a vessel for fascist propaganda and a threat to democracy, but on the other hand, creating a legitimate precedent for banning a social network on political grounds might be a slippery slope. The EU has already made dubious reforms regarding internet freedom, like their antiterrorist bill which require website hosts to remove content whithin an hour if it is signaled to them by the police. I’m not sure if giving them more power and legitimacy in policing online content is a good idea…
I don’t get why anyone makes chemicals when they could be using my body.
I haven’t seen the movie, but Chihuahua is also a region in Mexico, maybe it takes place between these two places?
Since the beam reduces the objects into particles and reconstructs it, doesn’t it imply that it’s able to destroy the ring in the first place? I guess it’s necessary to get rid of the particles to make it so they can’t re-build it again. But that does raise the question: Would the ability to reconstruct the ring affect one the same way the ring itself would? Or does the ring need to exist to exert its power?
Mint is a pretty sturdy plant, it can grow in a variety of climates and even get a bit invasive at times. Among the domesticated plants, it might be one of those with the best chance to still strive after humans disappear.
Fascists: “At least under Mussolini the trains ran on time!”
Italy under (fascist) Meloni:
I feel with enough people working together, something could be done. I don’t mean to threaten anyone, so let’s just say the target is a Fictional Evil Technologically Advanced Billionaire, or FETAB ; and definitely not any real person. The strategy I have in mind would involve digging trenches outside his property and literally smoking him out by burning a huge pile of tires upwing.
The biggest problem would be getting shot by drones while digging or while setting up the pile of tires (if it’s done during the purge) or being attacked by police if it’s done beforehand. I think secret underground tunnels should start being dug in secret before the purge, so they can collapse into trenches when needed. Then, the trenches keep FETAB from escaping by land in his FETAB-mobile, and the smoke makes a helicopter or private jet difficult to get of ground.
Drones or makeshift aircrafts with makeshift incendiary bombs can be sent to the house under the cover of the smoke. Even assuming he is in an underground bunker, this much smoke would put it’s air filtration systems under significant stresses and also cause big material losses. In the end, he still have chances of making it out alive, his death would come either from suffocation in his bunker (if hos filters are saturated by soot and he doesn’t have enough bottled oxygen) or, more likely, him trying to escape and having an accident (made more likely by the smoke and trenches).
Does he attac tho? Whom? How? Does he have widdle weapons for assolt ?
Maybe to avoid confusing it with the country.
Don’t forget Lise Meitner!
Oh no, without the power of friendship I am forced to begin a villain arc, which will only end in me conquering the world with te power of hatred. Or being killed by a hero while trying. Or being confronted by a hero, but instead of killing me he tells me a speech about how he’s just like me and he keeps having flashbacks of a swing and then I am convinced to die heroically or something.
