Lol! That’s hilarious!
Been on Lemmy for a year and some on .world, but switched to .today to support lemmy decentralization.
Lol! That’s hilarious!
Happens to people all the time on the bayou here, but we probably don’t have conservation instructors, so I suppose the sentence is still unique.
Well, I mean, that was kind of my point, I guess. Steel is clearly not digestible, but as the other commenter indicated, the leather on the hilts would be… sorta. And if we are talking logic here, is that a giant’s stomach, or are those tiny swords? Aren’t there other names for tiny swords? Like, dagger?
The more I look at this image, the more I’m just shaking my damn head.
You have to make sure you get the whole-grain existential horror: that refined horror stuff they are selling to kids these days is just empty calories.
Yeah, I mean, considering that those really look more like dirks or something, if it was real swords with leather-covered handles, my instinct is that #1: 400 calories would be more than one sword and #2: you would be dead before you could expend those calories. Did your research confirm that? I may need to take that research ride too.
I don’t feel like the swords picture is accurate… that looks like way more than 400 calories worth of swords…
I am totally just putting this out there and not trying to be annoyingly pedantic, just fyi. The AP rule for capitalization in this case is that this is a title, so if we are speaking of a specific don, it would be capitalized but if just a generic don, it would not be capitalized. So a random don, but Don Corleone. Unless there is a source for mafia style that contradicts this standard rule of course.
Of course! I hope you find a way to enjoy Who. It is a lovely universe. The other idea would be to look into Big Finish audio—they do a lot of interesting Who stuff.
If you like the lore but watching it makes you want to stab your eyes out, look into the Target novelisations. They are mostly faithful to what was on the TV, and you get to use your imagination instead of BBC’s production values. They were usually written by the same person who wrote the script. I actually prefer the novels for several stories and was really, really disappointed when I finally had a chance to see them. A big bonus is the Target books are pretty cheap and easy to find used.
It’s definitely something that you have to grow up with. I was lucky to have an uncle who was obsessed with The Fourth Doctor when I was a child, and my love of the show comes from that. I wish some of the older stuff could be redone: it’s unwatchable for many because it was made for an audience who had tiny black and white TVs and a great deal more patience.
At least for me:
Dr. Who (First through Fifth Doctor mostly)
Original Star Trek
Star Trek: TNG
Star Trek: Voyager
Star Trek: DS9
While about Algerian Berbers, this article was a good jumping off point for me to learn more about this.
Cool. Will do. Thanks, and have a great weekend!
Yeah, it’s so true! I’ve gotten close on bourbon street watching an amazing mostly cover band, but I never expect to find fitz again. But there’s gotta be bands like that… Right? Or has it all been that fucked by the industry?
Fitzgeralds was my place in the 90s. Motherfuckers paved “paradise” and put up a parking lot. It enrages me every time I see it. My friends used to play downstairs at Fitz all the time back then. Looking for that vibe: clearly I’m not a teenager anymore, but I love a good dive and a good show. Doesn’t really matter the genre as long as the musicians are good and know how to put on a show. Austin was also great for this, emos and hole in the wall were great, and taco land in SA was amazing until it wasn’t.
I mean, is there anything like that in town?? Or do I need to go out to spring because that’s where people can afford to have a good time? It would not surprise me and I’d be happy to even if that’s quite a drive for me. I’m just kind of lost because I’m trying to get back to what I love, but I’ve been so isolated I don’t know anything anymore.
I mean, I know numbers is still around. That’s good. But there’s got to be something else where good music is happening.
Sorry, not meaning to dump. I really appreciate your recommendations.
Hey there! Thank you for all your hard work, and congratulations on the success. I’ve never done moderation before, but I am willing to help out if I can get some guidance. I’m on tesseract, which I’ve heard is good for modding.
So is shit in town just crap? I honestly wouldn’t be surprised, but I was hoping there might be something closer in.
Both of those look pretty awesome, though. Thanks for the recommendations.
All the time around here… what, do you think I would just come on the internet and lie?
