Also, couldn’t he have traveled to a supervoid like the Boötes instead of directly into a relatively crowded solar system beyond the observable universe?

I was trying to be very generous by interpreting that as FtL travel beyond the ovservable universe instead of, like you said, “super-universe-crossing-over ability?”, but yeah, it’s bizarre. Like you said, nothing seemingly precluding abiogenesis a second time.
How did we forget about superman’s ability to just go to a different universe at will?
