    Imagine cable tv! (in the US at least, and, it seems, Canada, too)

    It is so absurd until you realize people already accepted that shit… wtf!!!

        No, most TV in Germany is either paid and with ads (ARD, ZDF, or private stations with HD+) , or free and with even more ads (RTL, Pro7 etc. in SD resolution). Paid TV without ads (Sky) is only used by a small minority

        And the few ad supported stations that are free are only free if you use Satellite TV, half of Germany still uses cable TV and has to pay a monthly fee to Vodafone for those, in addition to our broadcasting fees that everyone has to pay
