I do love Star Trek, but as far as religions go…
There are so many Star Trek references in Futurama. It’s no coincidence that it’s my favorite (non Star Trek) show out there.

Gene Roddenberry absolutely hated L. Ron Hubbard. They had a public rivalry when Hubbard was still the sci-fi writer in the 1950s. Roddenberry also was not shy about sharing his criticism of Scientology.
For all of Gene’s faults?
