Safe and clean enough to drink it lol. Like half of America’s tap water is undrinkable. While I agree a societal collapse would be bad, let’s not pretend these services are perfect.
So in order to fix these utility services where they aren’t ripping us off and selling us crap water then we may need to tear the system down and rebuild it. Far too many Americans are comfortably complicit in our broken system. Blood must be spilled to fix it

I agree that the US has a problem with water quality in parts, and that I am quite privileged to be living in Sweden in this regard.
My point was that you should have a plan to rebuild the stuff that will break before pushing the button.
